What About Herbs for Liver Support?

This is where I encourage people to slow down.
There are herbs and plant compounds that have been studied for liver health, including milk thistle, turmeric/curcumin, green tea, and dandelion.
But here's the important part:
More is not better.
Some concentrated herbal products can interact with medications or, in certain circumstances, cause liver injury themselves.
Before using a concentrated herbal supplement—especially if you take prescription medications, are pregnant, have liver or kidney disease, or are preparing for surgery—talk with your healthcare professional.
Food-based herbs and spices used as part of normal cooking are a very different conversation from concentrated supplements.
Your Liver Doesn't Need Punishment
One of the biggest misconceptions about detoxification is that you need to punish your body to make it healthier.
You don't.
You don't need to starve yourself.
You don't need to survive on juice.
You don't need an expensive detox package.
And you don't need to feel guilty about what you ate last weekend.
Instead, ask:
What can I consistently add to my lifestyle that supports my body's natural processes?
That's the conversation I want us to have.
What About Functional Health Evaluations?
Sometimes lifestyle changes are only one piece of the puzzle.
If you're experiencing persistent fatigue, unexplained changes in weight, digestive symptoms, metabolic concerns, or other health changes, it's worth having a conversation with your healthcare provider.
A health evaluation may include appropriate laboratory testing to assess things such as:
Liver enzymes
Blood glucose
A1C
Lipid profile
Kidney function
Other markers based on your individual health history
At BV Mobile Lab Services, our goal is to make preventive health information more accessible and convenient through mobile and wellness laboratory services.
Testing doesn't replace your physician or diagnose disease by itself.
Instead, appropriate testing can provide valuable information that you and your healthcare team can use to make informed decisions.
